To Be a Raven
"To Be a Raven" visually weaves together my experiences observing ravens in the Monterey cypress tree in my back yard and on San Bruno Mountain, where I hike and enjoy Nature. The title is inspired by the grammar of animacy, as it is expressed by author Robin Wall Kimmerer in "Braiding Sweetgrass," and points to the beingness of this remarkable bird that thrives in the San Francisco Bay Area despite habitat loss.
